---------------------------------------------------------------------

Broken Ground is the representation of a European landscape, through a blurred reality that combines common features of the edges of the suburbs of its two most peripheral countries of Europe - Portugal and Turkey. The alternative and fictional topography created in the Broken Ground series is an exploration of the relationship between humans and the spaces they inhabit. It reveals the contradictions of these peripheral and suburban places through representations of a universal imaginary. Broken Ground invites us to reflect about the contrast between a sense of uniformity of 'the same' and the expectation of change - a moment of transition of young people living in border towns and on the border of adulthood.
